Our walnuts are sourced from the world's top growing regions and meet the highest food safety qualifications.

California, USA

In the United States, 99% of the country's total walnut production comes from the fertile soils of California's Central Valley. California represents approximately 75% of total global production in walnuts. It is thanks to the unique Mediterranean climate of the Central Valley and the abundant water supplies of Northern California that walnut orchards have flourished. Despite California's first walnut orchards being located in the South-Central area of the state, near Santa Barbra, over time the industry's nexus has shifted to the North. For those buyers looking for high quality inshell and kernel, we recommend sourcing product from the world renowned Linden area, which grows some of the highest quality and most sought after nuts in California. Up and coming regions with increasingly higher quality production also include the Northern areas of Chico and Yuba City. The rise of these growing regions is in no small part due to the climatic changes caused by the increasing pressures of warmer average temperatures seen over the past decade in California’s Central Valley. These higher temperatures create risk of sunburn, infestation, and issues of water availability. Fortunately for California’s walnut industry, Northern California has reliable water resources and a more mild climate, ideal for growing these incredibly healthy nuts.

Chile

Chile is the largest walnut exporting country in the Southern Hemisphere, the world's seventh largest global walnut producer by volume, and the world's third largerst exporter of walnuts. The Santiago region is the main area of production in Chile, producing high quality, light-colored walnut products. Similar to California, Chile has a Medditeranean-like climate that is ideal for growing these nuts. Walnuts are high in omega-3 fatty acids and if not stored properly can go rancid and thus have a limited shelf-life as compared to nuts like almonds. One of the most important aspects of Chile's walnut production is that the growing season is the reverse of California and the Northern Hemisphere. This allows Chile's walnut producers to take advantage of global demand without having to compete directly with California's harvest season.
