California, USA
In the United States, raisins are grown in the Central Valley of California, and predominately in the Fresno and Kerman regions. The area is well-suited for growing raisins due to the hot and dry conditions. California raisin growers receive water by groundwater fed by the snowmelt from the Sierra Nevada Mountains using irrigation networks to provide adequate moisture to the vines. California raisins are known for being the highest quality in the world due to experienced farmers, ideal growing conditions, and advanced processing equipment. Natural Thompson Seedless Select raisins are the most sought after raisin variety and size.
